West of Ordinary is not a dude ranch, riding camp, or traditional farm tour.
It is a modern Western experience built around participation.
Fresh eggs and a beautifully set table. Dirt under your nails and flowers from the garden. Useful skills, thoughtful details, and enough time to enjoy where you are.
The Ranch Day is for women who are curious about ranch life, homesteading, gardening, animals, food, and the traditions of the American West—but want to experience them in a way that feels approachable and elevated.
Sample Ranch Day Itinerary
Every Ranch Day is different, but your day at Vista Meadows Ranch may look something like this:
9:00 AM - Welcome to the Ranch
Arrive for coffee, something from the kitchen, and an introduction to Vista Meadows Ranch.
9:30 AM - Morning Chores
Feed the chickens, gather eggs, and get acquainted with the animals and property.
10:15 AM - Horse Sense
Learn the basics of grooming, leading, equine care, and horse behavior.
11:30 AM - Good Dirt
Head to the kitchen garden for seasonal planting, harvesting, soil work, or raised-bed gardening.
12:30 PM - Ranch Lunch
Enjoy a casual seasonal lunch and some time to settle into the day.
1:30 PM - Make Your Mark
Create a Western-inspired piece such as a custom hat plume at our pop-up hat bar or indigo-dyed tea cloth.
4:30 PM - Gathered
Gather flowers, herbs, or seasonal ingredients and help bring the evening table together.
3:00 - Wild & Useful
Spend the afternoon learning preserving, pickling or another seasonal kitchen skill.
5:30 PM - Supper Out West
Finish the day with a beautifully prepared farm-to-table meal at the ranch.
